The Eyebrook welcomed a number of package break & groups of anglers this past week with the weather on Saturday unfortunately impacting on the travelling angler, however the other 6 days of the week produced consistent sport with the weekly rod average 4.8
Stoke Dry continues to be the hotspot with some days seeing all the boats heading down towards this area often passing areas that also hold good numbers of fish, the Hawthorns, Island & Chestnut.
We were commenting on Thursday that the only area that hadn’t produced currently was Sam Dykes we were soon to be proved wrong with boat anglers finding fish in this area on Friday afternoon & again on Sunday
Monday buzzers & diawls were the patterns working fished static, under a bung or on a midge tip with the chestnuts and Stoke Dry the areas to fish
Tuesday with Lee Henfrey out guiding he headed towards Stoke Dry with his client catching 26 trout on buzzers, Ed Douglass had a cracking day on dries and shipmans with dries working for Tony Day on Wednesday. Stoke Dry continued to be the areas anglers headed for with buzzers, crunchers & dries retuning a days rod average of 6.2
Thursday & Friday there was a change in the weather as the forecast storm moved in over the UK, James & Dave Dixon fished consistently well over both days fishing buzzers static catching 24 on Thursday & 46 on Friday on the buzzer on Friday Scottish group of Abram, Scobie, Awyper & Miller caught 77 between them
Saturday & the storm hit with wind in excess of 30mph a few anglers fished off the bank wit R Inglis catching a 5lb1oz rainbow
Sunday and with calmer weather we welcomed a number of groups Colwick Fly Fishers, All Abilities group with young angler Sam catching his first fish with Andy Miller also took a junior angler out for his first taste of fly fishing photo and report on our www.facebook.com/FlyFishStore
